A2D TECHNOLOGIES LAUNCHES ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS GROUP. APPOINTS ROD STARR SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT.
Experienced professional leverages over 15 years in E&P to lead new A2D initiative.

HOUSTON, TX (January 8th, 2002) - A2D Technologies, a leading petroleum well log data, software, and data management services company, announced today that Rod Starr has joined the company as Senior Vice President for Enterprise Solutions effective December 17, 2001.

"A2D is in a unique position to change how well log data is managed by the oil and gas industry. As head of the new Enterprise Solutions Group I will be helping to usher in a new framework for managing and distributing digital assets. I was attracted to A2D's existing state-of-the-art technology, unmatched on-line well log library and highest quality customer service", said Starr. "There is tremendous potential to enhance the utilization of digital well data within E&P organizations resulting in significant improvements in efficiency and productivity."

Rod Starr joins A2D's seasoned executive team, which includes David Armitage (CEO), Dave Kotowych (President/COO), Kim Boddy (Executive Vice President/CFO), and Bill Ross (Senior VP - Value Added Services).

Rod comes to A2D Technologies from PetroCosm where he developed an eContent Management Services business and led the Global Supplier Business team which was the foundation for the first energy-related B2B global supply chain management marketplace. Previously, he worked over ten years for Unocal in senior finance and information system roles. During his tenure at Unocal, Rod negotiated and directed a joint development effort with Oracle to help launch Oracle Energy - an ERP system for the industry.

Rod has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University and completed an executive education program in International Finance at the American Graduate School of International Management. Rod was founder and charter President of the Oracle Energy User's Group and served on the Strategic Advisory Council for Requisite Technology.
